2014 wishlist and spending ban

I’m back at work for 2014 and most people are away on holidays still, so I’ve taken the time to think about the things I want to achieve in 2014. I posted earlier about my lifestyle changes that I wish to occur to help me lead a healthier life. But I also have some bigger changes I want to see happen. My dream is to own a home in the next year. With my new addiction to beauty products, I don’t see this happening as quickly as I intended. So I have decided that starting next week I will put myself on a shopping ban. I have thought long and hard about how I am going to do this and I’ve set myself a few rules. I have seen people put themselves on spending bans for a month, but I want this to last pretty much forever.

Basically I will limit myself to one new full size product a month, unless I run out of something eg, Shampoo, moisturizer etc. I don’t have that many products saved up that I need to use up, just a few backups that I have purchased. I have also signed up to Lust Have It and Violet Box after cancelling my BellaBox, so I will receive products out of these, so at least I’ll have something I can blog about.

I have also written up a list of products that I really want to own by the end of 2014. Basically I’ll be putting money aside each week to help me save. I already started about a month ago, when I decided I needed a new hair dryer. My current one hasn’t died yet or anything, but it is a travel size GHD that I received in a set with my straightener. I think it’s time I upgraded to a larger size. I put money aside in a little tin every Sunday, so far I have been putting in $20 and that is what I usually have left over. I think I have $60 saved at the moment I’m not sure.

So I’d like to share with you my list of products I’d like to own this year, some will be hard to get but I have tracked down websites that I’ll be able to get them from, this will also make it more difficult for me to spend money buying them if they are hard to get.

1.     GHD Wonderland Air Hair Dryer $179-199
2.     Chanel Vitalumiere Foundation - $72- 78
3.     Marc Jacobs Eyeshadow Palette Lolita - $77.45
4.     Chanel Coco Rouge Shine in Boy - $44-58
5.     Philosophy Shower Gel – Amazing Grace $35
6.     Philosophy Shower Gel – Raspberry Sorbet $30
7.     Peter Thomas Roth Mega Rich Body Wash - $21.95
8.     Real Techniques -  Face Brush $10.09-20.00
9.     Real Techniques -  Setting Brush - $8.26-16.00

Some of these products I won’t be considering purchasing until I finish others eg. The Chanel foundation, I have just purchased the Mat Lumiere foundation, also the Marc Jacobs palette I probably won’t consider until I have finished most of the Naked 2 shades... so that could be forever away. I have added up the price of these products and it is close to $450, so if I saved $20 a week it will take me about 22 weeks to purchase them. I’ll obviously be purchasing as I save I reckon. For example when I have enough saved for the Hair Dryer I’ll be buying that, and then I’ll start saving for the next item. I’m hoping this will help me achieve my dream of owning a house in the next 6mths or so.

If you have any suggestions on how i can cope with my spending/saving ban please let me know.
I’d also love to know your thoughts on any of the products I’m saving for!
I will also accept products to review/ trial! Perfect opportunity to have me trial your product! Doesn’t have to be one of the ones I’ve listed either!
